New high-income threshold for 2017/2018

The increases, which operated as of 1 July 2017 include:

  • the maximum salary an employee can be paid and still be allowed to make an unfair dismissal application under the Fair Work Act 2009, has increased to $142,000.00 per annum (from $138,900.00 last year); and

  • the maximum compensation limit in unfair dismissal cases, has increased to $71,000.00 (from $69,450.00 last year).
