On 20 February 2018 the National Health Amendment (Pharmaceutical Benefits - Budget and Other Measures) Bill 2017 was assented to, and enacted as the National Health Amendment (Pharmaceutical Benefits - Budget and Other Measures) Act 2018 (“Act”).
Passage of, and assent to, the Act has been welcomed by the Pharmacy Guild of Australia.
It is now certain that the sunset clause has been removed, and the existing arrangements with respect to the Pharmacy Location Rules and the ACPA will continue after the expiry of the Sixth Community Pharmacy Agreement on 30 June 2020.
