“CC Strategic Advisory is essentially a new non-legal business to service the commercial and family business sector,” Mr Clarke said.

“As a non-legal service, CC Strategic Advisory can assist all parties to a transaction or dispute to facilitate the discussion to achieve a quick cost-efficient solution for everyone involved.

“With family and other commercial businesses, it’s important to have an independent facilitator or mediator in place to navigate a solution that avoids the path to expensive litigation. Once an in principle agreement is reached, if required, the parties can obtain separate legal advice and document the agreement. CC Strategic Advisory can assist to streamline that process.”

CC Strategic Advisory utilises its commercial and communication skills to provide services in the areas of:

  • Resolving commercial disputes

  • Facilitating family business / succession discussions

  • Facilitating the finalisation of commercial transactions

  • Financially restructuring corporations and partnerships

  • Identifying and managing commercial areas of risk management

  • Designing and managing probity and procurement programs

  • Conducting probity and procurement reviews

An experienced mediator and commercial negotiator, Jon Clarke founded Cowell Clarke in 1989 with chairman, Brett Cowell. Jon is now a consultant with the firm.

Cowell Clarke is looking to build on the momentum of a solid first half of the financial year as it continues to grow its online legal service offering and eyes further expansion interstate.

The Chief Executive Officer, Rob Comazzetto said more financial advisers, credit brokers, wholesale and retail funds were using the firm’s online portal to meet financial licence compliance requirements.

“We’ve also expanded the portal to include commercial property leasing, allowing property managers access to an easy-to-use automated service for negotiating and executing leases,” Mr Comazzetto said.

“There is enormous potential in the online legal services space and we’ve invested significantly to ensure we are right in the driver’s seat for our industry.”

Having 100 staff located in offices in Adelaide and Sydney, Cowell Clarke is on track for solid growth this year with its corporate commercial, financial services, employment and industrial relations, property and litigation practices among the key drivers.

“We’re currently looking to expand our Sydney office, particularly within the commercial property sector,” Mr Comazzetto said.
