Julia was admitted to practice in January 2000, and commenced working with Cowell Clarke in July 2006. She is a Senior Associate working predominantly with Jon and Rob in the commercial litigation team.
Julia has worked entirely in the area of commercial litigation at all levels. Prior to joining Cowell Clarke, she worked for a national law firm and was involved in large scale commercial litigation interstate. She has also conducted litigation on behalf of banks and financiers, insolvency practitioners, private shareholders, a Port Lincoln tuna fishing company and wineries, all in a broad range of litigious matters.
Julia has experience in the resolution of disputes in relation to unfair preference claims (both defending and prosecuting) and other liquidator’s claims, minority shareholder oppression claims, real property matters (including fraud), enforcement of securities (both commercial and domestic), retention of title claims, debt recovery matters including personal and corporate insolvency, and general contractual claims.
Julia is admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia and the High Court of Australia, and is an associate of the Australian Institute of Credit Management and a member of the Australian Banking and Finance Law Association.
